Ready to Adopt?

Looking to add a new furry friend to your family?

We’re so glad you’re considering adoption! By choosing to adopt, you’re giving an animal in our care the opportunity to find a safe, loving, and happy home.

 Step 1: Complete an Adoption Application

The first step in our adoption process is completing an adoption application.

The application helps us learn more about your home, lifestyle, and what you’re looking for in a pet. This information allows our team to help match you with an animal who is a good fit for your family and whose needs you can meet.

You can fill out our online application, or print and mail the application to the shelter or download and email it to us—whichever is most convenient for you.

 Step 2: Meet the Animals

Once your application has been approved, a member of our team will contact you to schedule an appointment to meet the animals you’re interested in.

We ask that everyone in the household participate in the meeting so that all family members have the opportunity to meet and interact with the potential new addition.

If you are interested in adopting a dog and already have a dog at home, we require an onsite dog-to-dog introduction. Our team will help safely facilitate the meeting and make sure everyone gets along as well as possible.

 Step 3: Find Your Match

If you meet an animal who you feel would be the right fit for your family, we can move forward with the adoption!

If you need a little more time to think about your decision, we can place a 48-hour hold on the animal so you can make sure adoption is the right next step for your family.

We want every adoption to be a lifelong commitment. Please keep in mind that adopting a pet can mean committing to 10–15 years or more of care, companionship, and love.

Our goal is to help each animal find the right home—and to help each family find the right companion.
