Adoption

Hey there!

Looking to add a new furry friend to the family? We are glad you are making the choice to adopt and help get the animals in our care into a safe and happy home! The first step for all of our adoptions is to fill out an adoption application! This helps us get information about your home life and what kind of pet you are looking for so that we can help ensure that it's the best fit for both you and the animal! Our adoption application can be found below. You may print it and mail it to the shelter, or download and email it to the shelter, whichever works best for you! Once your application has been approved, we will reach out to set up an appointment for potential adopters to visit the animals at PMFAS where we will be happy to tell you all about them! We ask that everyone in the household comes to meet the animal. If you are interested in adopting a new dog while you already have one (...or a few!) at home- we require a dog-to-dog intro onsite so that we can help to safely facilitate an intro between the canines. Then, if you choose a pet that you would like as a member of your family, we can complete an adoption or give you a 48 hour hold time so that you can think about it and make sure it's the right next step. We hope that adoptions will be permanent and want to remind adopters that pets can be a 10-15 year commitment to the care and loving of your chosen pet.
